It is said that our mind and our body are absolutely connected.
It is said that illness is the physical appearance of worries.
I practice yoga and I believe in this connection as well as I believe in energy, maybe because of that I find a relation between a small lump I have in my ear and the last circumstances.
Last week I have been feeling fed up. It has been a bit hard for me. I had an argument with a friend and I had hard meetings at work. Also being far from the people I love has been harder than others weeks.
For all those things I was creating a negative position and I couldn´t realized what was supporting me to create that feeling…
Last Thursday I was practicing yoga as usual. The teacher was chatting about how we react when we have a pain and what that could means.
She gave us an advice: to take time for ourselves and reflect about how a situation is affecting us.
That makes me reflect these days.
Parallel I have studied NLP. If you know something about it, you´ll know that we recognize “our world” through one or more senses. They are our connection channels with the world we live in.
Well, this morning it was a strange morning for me but I decided to get up and go out to have breakfast and have a walk instead to stay in bed.
I was walking on the street, in my negative mood, when I made a movement and lost my earring. It was a special earring so I thought “what a shame!!”. Then touching my ear I realize that I had (still having) a small pain in my ear, something like a small lump inside… In that moment I related everything and realized that was hearing the senses, the channel I was using last week. I was taking with me all the negatives conversations I heard during the week.
In that moment I decide to take out all those perceptions and focus myself in the enrich conversations I had during the week.
This is the power of being aware you have at least two options.
This morning I´ve written down the negative words or conversations were affecting me as well as the positives that can help me to focus on my goal.
These are the questions I made to myself
- What negative/reactive words or conversations I am listening from other people?
- What positive/proactive words or conversations I am listening from other people?
- How I behave with the reactive position?
- How I behave with the proactive position?
- Should do I listen only the proactive position?
- Why I focus myself in the reactive position?
- With all the information I have:
- What can I do?
- How I decide to behave?
- How can I do my best to be focused in my goal and deal with the negatives?
The result has been very good. I have changed my mood, I have created a powerful position to this situation and the best of all I have create a new balanced position in my life.
Take time for yourself and reflect about your life. I am sure you will discover lots of things.
